  1. Thank you Alicia for this great video. It is all so clear how you explain everything step by step. I think most important is that one has a plan. And I appreciate it that time and again you point out the importance of a campaign.

For myself the most burning issue is how to get a list first. At the moment I have 3(!)subscribers on my blog. This is unfortunately not enough to start a campaign.

I am sure your EBE Summit will be a great success.

    Warm regards
    Carolina

  2. All I can say is WOW!!!

  3. Alicia Bausley says:

    Hi Carolina,

You are very welcome! To create a list you must ‘attract’ with valuable information. Then your audience will want ‘more’ which will lead them to your blog, website, or opt-in page. Lisa and I use a variety of ways to attract our audience. We have a series of 20 training videos, two separate 7-day ecourses, and a lengthy (84-page) ebook, The Empowered Business Sales Conversion Formula that we provide as a gifts to small business entrepreneurs. I believe this is a critical first step…to give first and give BIG! Then you begin nurturing this relationship with added value. Send me your website or blog address and I’ll review it quickly to give you some help/advice (if you like!).

    Warm regards,

    Alicia

    Hi Donna,

    Many thanks again!

    Your friend,

    Alicia

  5. Eric Walker says:

Your best yet! You really delivered on how to create a sales video. I was taking notes.

Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for all of us.

    Thanks,

    Eric

P.S. Will these videos stay up after launch?

  6. Lisa Hanfileti says:

    Hi Eric,

YES, these videos will stay up after the opening of the EBE Live Summit.

We really want everyone to benefit NOT ONLY from the incredible material that Alicia presents, but also from seeing the progression of her videos. As you stated, this video was Alicia’s “best yet”. Alicia knew that first video could be better, but instead of lamenting and tweaking, she put it ‘out there’ in order to move forward! She applied the lessons and feedback from the first video to Video 2. And the lessons from Video 2 to making an even better Video 3. With each video we are trying new things… adding text, adding slides… each one is “a first” for us, and although we see things that we wish were better, we just hope our audience is forgiving (gratefully you are!) and we take our lessons to the next video. Oh my… just WAIT ’til you see Video 4!!! :)

We are committed to “walking the talk” and this means going ahead and showing the world our learning curve so that others feel comfortable taking those first steps, too. This is an important part of our entire approach to teaching. We cannot ask someone to do something that we ourselves have not done. This will carry over to our EBE Live Summit where we will record the event ourselves (no big, costly production crew) so we can SHOW you firsthand how your own event (seminar, lecture, workshop, etc) can be turned into a product. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! ;)

    Peace,
    Lisa

  7. Eric Walker says:

    @Lisa,

That’s awesome. I totally agree with that approach and have much respect for it. Others will too. No doubt. You two are on top of your game. Thanks for providing a model that feels good to aspire to.

    Eric

  8. Hi Alicia,
thanks for your answer and your offer for help. But I am german and my blog is in german too. If you want to take alook at my blog its: http://www.xn--schnehautnatrlich-1zb7j.com/ . I am using mutated vowel. That is the reason why the adress looks so weird. The name of my blog is “Schöne Haut Natürlich”, which means beautiful skin naturally.

I already studied all your free information and tried to implement what I´ve learned. Before I found you and Lisa I already paid some money for some internet marketing courses.

In Germany we don´t have something similar.

I set up my blog in may 2010 and I am writing about organic cosmetics and healthy nutrion. I love writing and organic cosmetics is my passion since 10 years. I became partner with a company that is selling organic cosmetics. Wonderful products and I know there is a market for these products.

My ethical bribe is an e-report and also a 5 days e-course.

There is also one difficult thing : the germans are a bit afraid of leaving there names and e-mail adresses to strangers. Maybe something bad could happen. They tend to be suspicious. In Germany we have a lot of discussions about internet security going on. Many people are even afraid of facebook and now Google street view is a big topic. They want to ban it.

I think in the US it is way easier.

Anyway I think that internet marketing and home based business is something that will become more and more popular and important. I am really passionate about it and I think I am on the right path.

  9. Dennis says:

An excellent video again, very informative.
A lot of people, particularly newcomers to network marketing, are uncomfortable talking into a camera, this comes out on the video and the whole thing looks forced and artificial.
What do you think is the best way to present the information without using video?

    Dennis

  10. Alicia Bausley says:

    Hi Carolina,

Very interesting….thank you for the education! Here are a couple of immediate suggestions (by the way, I don’t read German…but your blog has a very pleasing look and the YouTube video is a nice welcome for your guests!):

    1. Be sure to use profitable keywords in your articles and focus articles that speak directly to your target audience (the more ‘niched’ it is the better – less competition).
    2. Post frequently and ask for feedback from your audience (allow them to interact – even if there are only 3 on your list!)
    3. Re-read The Empowered Business Sales Conversion Formula and be sure to implement the series of videos we discuss and get them out on different sites (we use Traffic Geyser, but we provide other low/no-cost suggestions for doing this).
    4. I’m just now starting this – so I’m NOT the expert on social media, but if you have 45 minutes to 1 hour each day, begin creating relationships on Facebook, Twitter etc. (I’m starting just with Facebook). Don’t sell. Just leave comments and create friendships. People will start to seek you out when they see you posting daily.
    5. Write additional articles and submit to Ezine articles which lead back to your blog or better yet an opt-in page (an opt-in page gives only one thing for your target audience to do and that is to opt-in). Much better conversions for getting them to subscribe. As opposed to a blog, which provides lots of choices/things for them to do.
    6. Find top blogs in your industry and post frequently – you will attract that crowd back to your site (always leave your website address). No pitches, just provide value and good comments.

That’s just a start – but I hope it helps you! Keep me posted on your progress. I’d really like to hear how you are doing. And congratulations for what you have accomplished so far!

    Warm regards,

    Alicia

  11. Roy Cobb says:

    Alicia,

You are doing a fabulous job. However, I agree, to some extent with Ms. Dlugosch on internet security, facebook twitter and others. I would like to pass on your great videos but since I don’t use these social media outlets, at least not yet, I haven’t a clue how it’s done. But then that’s why I enjoy EBE so very much, e.g., to LEARN! Keep going ladies you two make a big difference.

    Roy

  12. Alicia Bausley says:

    Hello Dennis,

Thank you for commenting! I appreciate you taking the time to do so. I think everyone is uncomfortable when they first get on camera. I cerainly was (and still am to some degree)! And everytime I finish a video, I think I want to do it over, because it’s not perfect. But as it turns out, when the videos are not perfect, people actually respond in a much more positive way – because it feels ‘real’. I did my first video at Lisa’s house two summers ago. I was so nervous…my hands were sweating! Didn’t do to many more, then tried a couple last year. Then I finally said, ‘I’m going to conquer my video fears and JUST DO IT!” I’d be doing you an injustice, if I didn’t stress the importance of video. It will absolutely change the way you market on the Internet. BUT, if you are uncomfortable in front of the camera, my next suggestion is behind the camera. By this I mean teach and train using Camtasia (where you see the speaker’s PowerPoint, etc, and only hear their voice). The more you do, the better you get – just like everything!

    Warm regards,

    Alicia

  13. Alicia Bausley says:

    Hi Roy,

Stay tuned…we’re going to be including some incredbile social media experts in some upcoming training! Lots more coming!

    Warm regards,

    Alicia

  14. Alicia, thank you so much for your interest and your recommendations. I will follow your suggestions and will work again with your fabulous EB Sales Conversion Formula Report.

Btw I am already on twitter and on facebook. “Schöne Haut Natürlich” even has a facebook fanpage.

For me the main problem with twitter and facebook at the moment is to find quality followers. The people I would like to have as a follower is the middle-aged woman, interested in health, natural cosmetics and nutrition. I am not looking for business or sales people. But most of the people that are following me want to sell something. The same is when I do a twitter search with my keywords. The results are always people who want to sell their products. The same is on facebook. The only fans on my fanpage are my friends and people from my personal network. I am not advancing with new people.

I found that social media is not as easy as sometimes the hype internet marketers tell us.

But stop for now. I don´t want to abuse your comment section any longer for my personal issues.

    Thanks again so much!
    Carolina

  15. Lisa Hanfileti says:

    Hi Carolina,

I wanted to add my 2-cents (or as Alicia would say, my 34-cents! :) ) about your site and marketing. First of all, your site looks FANTASTIC! Congratulations on setting up an incredible site, complete with video and a value-based free opt-in. I cannot comment on the quality of your content because I do not read German, but I can assume that you put as much attention and detail into your content as you have into the look and feel of your site. Which again looks professional and very well done. As Alicia stated, keywords in your titles and posts are extremely important for getting traffic as are the other tips that she provided.

But the one thing I want to address is this statement:

There is also one difficult thing : the germans are a bit afraid of leaving there names and e-mail adresses to strangers. Maybe something bad could happen. They tend to be suspicious. In Germany we have a lot of discussions about internet security going on. Many people are even afraid of facebook and now Google street view is a big topic. They want to ban it.

If you actually face this security issue head on, it could be a goldmine for you and make you ‘stand out in the crowd’. Here’s what I mean… Go ahead and put a section on your site that speaks directly to the security concerns and fears that your visitors have. Maybe even have a nav bar button that says “Email Security” or “Is Your E-Mail Safe?”… you would know what the buzz words are to get their attention. Show them (with video) how your Aweber email system is secure with a ‘double opt-in’ and unsubscribe link in every email.

And then go a step further and tell them that you understand if they prefer NOT to use your secure email system and then give them your phone number (preferably a free-to-voicemail system where they can leave a call back number) so you can make arrangements to verbally provide the information and answer their questions (make the sale!) and or send them your information directly vial postal service. Once you have someone on the phone and have their mailing address, build the relationship! Use all the consultative selling techniques that Alicia used to build her multi-million dollar business and she gives away in her Secrets To Selling online course! To me this is an even better option then an email opt-in because only motivated, interested, QUALIFIED prospects will call you. Try it!

One last thought, I do recommend removing your email address from your site because that truly is a security issue. It opens you up to the ‘spam bots’ and it’s tough to get rid of them once they start.

Keep us informed on your progress!

    Peace,
    Lisa

  16. Hi Lisa,

wow, thank you for paying a complimant for my site and for your suggestions. It seems a wonderful idea and I will asap set up a page on my blog with security infos.

I also would love to buy the secrets to Selling online course but I can´t afford it at the moment. Is there a possibility of payment in installments?

Your recommendations with removing my e-mail adress from my site: In Germany the law tells us to show our company details (IMPRESSUM) on our website. This includes an e-mail adress. It seems strange because we have so many discussions about internet security going on here and on the other hand we are forced to give all our details (adress, telephone, e-mail) on our website.

Thank you again, Alicia and Lisa, for all your help and ideas. You both a awesome!

  17. Caroline, that is a beautiful blog. What theme are you using. It is so clean and refreshing looking.

  18. Lisa Hanfileti says:

    Hi Carolina,

You’re welcome for the info. I hope it makes a difference! Yes, we do have a payment plan for Secrets To Selling (I’ll email you the info).

As far as your email address goes, rather than have it a live (‘clickable’) link, can you type it so it looks something like: name [at] emailaddress.com? Just by adding the word ‘at’ in brackets (instead of the symbol, @), you will reduce your risk of the spam bots finding you. If that is not permissible then at least remove it as a live link. People can still copy and paste your email address into their email system.

    Peace,
    Lisa

  19. Lisa Hanfileti says:

    Hi Donna,

We received your questions and have them on our ‘To Do’ List!

As far as your question about Carolina’s theme for her awesome site, it is the same theme we are using on this site (and 5 other blogs right now.) I love it! It’s called the Socrates Theme.

  20. Thanks again Lisa. I made the changes right away :-)

@Donna Yes the Socrates Theme is nice. And they have a great support forum!

    All the best
    Carolina
